Picture from Flickr.com – ‘Samson’s Hair’ from George Erws
Here’s a live telling of the Bible story of Samson and Delilah that I told in school assemblies some years ago when I was doing a lot of schools work. This was told to a KS2 assembly (that’s children aged 7 – 11) and was probably told to around 200 – 300 children at a time.
The truth is, live storytelling is the best way of telling stories as you can use yourself as your main prop which is a great way of keeping people’s attention as you tell the story. My method is to become each of the characters as they play their part in the story. And, as the years have gone by, I have really struggled not to collapse in laughter as I play the part of pouting Delilah, frustrated at Samson for not telling her the truth!
Anyway, have a listen as I’m sure you’ll enjoy this live version. And, maybe in a while I’ll put another couple of live stories up for you to listen to.
